Teenager Amelia Martin has an important job helping to tend a lighthouse in
the border state of Delaware in 1861. As the Civil War breaks out, Amelia continues
to stand her watch each night, confides in her diary, and tries to find her
place in a world being torn apart. A Light in the Storm is a co-commission
of the Kennedy Center and Scholastic Entertainment Inc.
