About
A sassy young girl from Eatonville, Florida, Zora Neale Hurston
grows up to become a passionate African-American woman and
talented author who sweeps the literary world with her courage
and realistic flare for life. Her career travels a winding path
through the Jazz Age, the Harlem Renaissance, and the Great
Depression in New York City before taking off with the
publication of her first novel. Zora endures a life of
heartache and joy, tears and laughter, love and hate; she bears
the weight of a segregated society, and fights to find her way
to show the world an authentic view of life that is real,
simple, and beautiful. Join us in experiencing the creative
and courageous journey of Zora Neale Hurston’s successes,
failures, visions, and hopes for a better world.
