Like many Americans, the Kennedys shared a love for poetry and read it together as a family. This highly theatrical production combines spoken word, movement, music, and dialogue to move audiences through works selected by Caroline Kennedy in her books The Best-Loved Poems of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and A Family of Poems: My Favorite Poetry for Children. Enjoy the words of Robert Frost, Carl Sandburg, Langston Hughes, Edgar Allan Poe, Gwendolyn Brooks, E. E. Cummings, and others in a special show made for sharing. Age 9 and up. Part of The Presidency of John F. Kennedy: A 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Christoph Eschenbach conducts Tzimon Barto in Gershwin's Piano Concerto. Also on the program is Remembering JFK (An American Elegy) by Peter Lieberson, with narration by Richard Dreyfuss of text taken from President Kennedy's speeches and writings.
A Tribute to the Pablo Casals Concert in the Kennedy White House
Cellist Yo-Yo Ma and pianist Emanuel Ax join with the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio to present a tribute to cellist Pablo Casals' 1961 White House concert. Part of The Presidency of John F. Kennedy: A 50th Anniversary Celebration.
