About

When shadows show us shapes we didn't even know they could make, that's puzzling. When they start telling us stories, well, that's shadow puppetry!

Uncover the story of Taketori no Okina, a childless bamboo cutter as he makes a mysterious discovery inside a stalk of bamboo: a beautiful, thumb-sized baby girl.  He and his wife name the baby Princess Kaguya and raise her as their own child. Many years later, Princess Kaguya has grown into a woman of ordinary size and famous, extraordinary beauty. Five princes seek her hand, only to find that she will only marry the one who completes a seemingly impossible task. Join Shadow Puppet Theatre TSUNOBUE from Tokyo, Japan as they share this ancient, uplifting tale of love, hope, loss, and a touch of magic. For age 5 and up.
