About

Baobab
A coproduction of Théâtre Motus of Canada and the Sô company of Mali

It takes a hero of a different size to save a village facing the awesome powers of nature. In a region of West Africa stricken by drought for many years stands a big and ancient baobab tree. One day, the baobab brings forth an egg and from this egg is born a little boy. The people in the village give the boy what little they have and through their kindness discover that he is the only one who can bring forth life-giving water to end their hardships. Join this tale as African percussion turns into animals, masks and puppets become genies, and one courageous child's quest changes the history of the world. For age 5 and up.
