About
The renowned Guarneri String Quartet has circled the
globe countless times since it was formed in 1964, playing in the world's
most prestigious halls in North and South America, Mexico, Europe, Asia
and Australia. This most distinguished and honored of ensembles plays
only one concert in the city of Washington each season, and it is at
the Kennedy Center. Elsewhere, the Boston Herald’s Keith Powers
has declared, “This generation of music lovers has much to be thankful
for. Some proof? The Guarneri String Quartet’s performance!” The Syracuse
Post-Standard’s constituency agrees: “The Friends of Chamber Music
crowd, who rarely give standing ovations, gave Guarneri an immediate
and long ovation at the conclusion of the performance.”
