About
In the two years since winning The Young Concert Artists
International Auditions, the Claremont Trio, comprised of twin virtuoso
string-playing sisters Emily and Julia Bruskin and pianist Donna Kwang
(their colleague from New Mexico’s Taos School of Music), has won national
and international acclaim. The Detroit Free Press raved, “The
Claremont Trio plays with striking unanimity of tone, balance, and interpretive
temperament. Their ravishing account of Mendelssohn’s Trio in C Minor
was filled with passionate outbursts of song.”
After a recent recital at Wolf Trap Farm Park by the award-winning violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Joseph McLellan wrote in The Washington Post that she “poured out serene melodies—elegantly phrased by Ngwenyama—and virtuoso fireworks that she made seem easy.”
