About
Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Puerto Rico, Frank Colón
is a specialist in Latin-Caribbean, Brazilian, and Asian
percussion instruments—from congas and bongos to batá drums,
chequeré, and berimbau. Colón plays "with abundant spirit and
imagination," raves the Washington Post. He follows up
his Kennedy Center/U.S. Department of State Jazz Ambassadors
tour with music from his CD Latin Wonder, a collection of Stevie
Wonder tunes set to vibrant Latin arrangements.
