About
Two of this up-and-coming piano trio's original members—acclaimed
pianist Navah Perlman and multi-faceted cellist Zuill Bailey,
a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory and artistic director of
the El Paso Pro Musica Chamber Festival—are now joined by
sensational young violinist Giora Schmidt, who appeared at the
2003 Kennedy Center Honors in a musical tribute to Honoree Itzhak
Perlman, his teacher and mentor. The charisma of these three
artists, both in their collaborative music-making and
communication with audiences, is evident in every performance.
"This is an outstanding ensemble of young thoroughbreds who play
to the highest standards," says the Santa Barbara News Press.
Favorites at Chicago's annual Ravinia Festival, the
Perlman/Schmidt/Bailey Trio lends its energetic and passionate
performance style to two piano trios: Beethoven’s masterful
"Archduke Trio," which represents a high point in the composer's
output and is considered by many the crowning triumph of the
medium, and Brahms's unabashedly romantic First Piano Trio.
