In a season celebrating Living Jazz Legends, the Kennedy Center officially launches its new jazz season with its own jazz legend, NEA Jazz Master and Grammy winner Dr. Billy Taylor. Though he retired from formal public performance in 2005, the Kennedy Center's Artistic Advisor for Jazz returns for these two very special concerts. Hailed as a "vibrant force on the keyboard" by the Washington Post, Dr. Taylor reunites in the KC Jazz Club with his trio mates, bassist Chip Jackson and drummer Winard Harper, plus 17-year-old pianist Christian Sands, a protégé of Billy Taylor. Part of the Prelude Festival.
