This gifted singer has made an indelible musical mark, ever since she was presented by Dizzy Gillespie at the 1979 Monterey Jazz Festival. "Blessed with a clear ringing voice, Schuur has emerged as the singer most likely to succeed in carrying on the broad jazz-pop tradition of Ella Fitzgerald" (The New York Times).
