Among the most revered and enduring quartets in the world, the Guarneri String Quartet has been a perennial joy for listeners for more than 40 years. In its only Washington performance this season, the group begins with the bliss and sorrow of Mozart's intricate "Prussian 3" Quartet--the composer's last in the genre--followed by Janácek's yearning "Kreutzer" Quartet, inspired by Tolstoy's tragic story of passion and betrayal. The Guarneri ends with Debussy's Quartet in G minor.
