Their Fortas debut concert was a sold-out highlight of the 03-04 season, and now this fresh, youthful trio returns to dazzle D.C. again. Comprised of twin string musicians Emily and Julia Bruskin and pianist Donna Kwong--their colleague from The Juilliard School--the Claremonts won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 2001 and the first-ever Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award in 2003. To celebrate their 10th anniversary season, the group has commissioned a new piano trio by Nico Muhly; as a special treat for Fortas audiences, the work will be given its world premiere at this concert. The program will also include Smetana's heartrending Piano Trio in G minor and Schubert's magnificent Piano Trio in B-flat major.
