"Virtuosic technique… captivating stage presence"
--The Indianapolis Star
Since winning the gold medal at the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, Juilliard graduate Augustin Hadelich has established himself as an eloquent, versatile, and unique voice among the new generation of violinists. The year 2008 marks his Carnegie Hall recital and orchestral debuts, as well as his professional recording debut with two CDs and a collaboration with violinist Midori. At the Kennedy Center, Hadelich will be joined by pianist Rohan De Silva for sonatas by Beethoven and Prokofiev, as well as Sarasate's Carmen Fantasy. He will also perform the work with which he wowed the Indianapolis jury: Bartók's monumental Solo Sonata, marked by an intensity, difficulty, and expressiveness that's unique to the 20th-century repertoire.
