About
Christmas Time Is Here
Vocalist Dianne Reeves, described by the New York Times as "the only jazz singer with a voice big enough to rival Sarah Vaughan's," sings "Carol of the Bells," "Let It Snow," "Little Drummer Boy," "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and other carols from her 2004 album, Christmas Time Is Here. Ben Ratliff of the New York Times praised Reeves as "a jazz singer of frequently astonishing skill, [who] takes the assignment seriously; this is one of the best jazz Christmas CDs I've heard." Renowned for her virtuosity and improvisational prowess, Reeves was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance for four consecutive recordings--a Grammy first in any vocal category.
