The vibrant style of saxophonist Sharel Cassity, richly steeped in the tradition of blues, swing, and post-bop, has captured the attention of Jimmy Heath and Roy Hargrove. With her fiery solos and songbird lyricism, the 2006 alumnus of Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead is dedicated to playing jazz with the highest level of creativity and execution possible. She is joined by her frequent collaborator and fellow rising jazz luminary, trombonist Michael Dease.
