Soprano and tenor saxophonist Marcus Strickland was named "Rising Star, Soprano Saxophone" in DownBeat's 2008 Critics' Poll and "Best New Artist" in the JazzTimes 2006 Readers' Poll. The unique textures and soaring melodies of the versatile saxophonist have graced two Grammy-nominated recordings, (Fountain of Youth, Roy Haynes; Keystone, Dave Douglas).
