About

For three decades, the multi-platinum selling violinist Karen Briggs has dazzled audiences with her fire-driven soul and seemingly effortless improvisation. After 13 years of touring internationally with Yanni, the "soul-oist" found the heat of her melismatic tones in high demand from an endless list of stars including Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, Wynton Marsalis, and Patrice Rushen. Her playing strongly indicates her rich exposure to jazz, gospel, Latin, classical, African and Middle Eastern music styles. Briggs plays music from her 2009 release of Soulchestral Groove, a diverse album of improvised soul, attitude, and sure-to-make-your-head-bop grooves.
