Following his outstanding tribute to Dave Brubeck at the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors, trumpeter Jon Faddis returns with his big band to swing in the New Year with six-time Grammy-nominated vocalist Nnenna Freelon. Faddis has been heralded as "a trumpet player of prodigious lyrical force" by the Wall Street Journal, and has received universal praise for his virtuosic command of the trumpet. Variety says, "Nnenna Freelon possesses that rarest of qualities... she makes (standards) sound freshly minted, refreshingly new." After the performance, enjoy festive dancing, a countdown to 2011, and a balloon drop in the Grand Foyer, free with your concert ticket.
