Authentic master of the piano and the Hammond B-3 organ, Dr. Lonnie Smith has furthered the sound of jazz organ for more than five decades. Revealing his musical talents on more than 70 albums, he "can light up a room with visceral intensity or lay down some of the nastiest funk ever played on an organ" (JazzTimes). Dr. Smith returns to the Kennedy Center with his trio, which includes guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg and drummer Jamire Williams.
