In demand as both a performer and a composer, Edgar Meyer has formed a role in the music world unlike any other. A four-time Grammy(r) winner, Mr. Meyer's unparalleled technique and musicianship in combination with his gift for composition have brought him to the fore, where he is appreciated by a vast, varied audience. His uniqueness in the field was recognized by an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 1994, the Avery Fisher Prize in 2000, and a MacArthur "Genius" Award in 2002. In 2013, he won the Best Folk Album Grammy(r) for The Goat Rodeo Sessions, his Sony Classical collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, and Chris Thile. This is the second award he has shared with Ma, the first being the 2000 Best Classical Crossover Album award for Appalachian Journey.
