A unique ensemble of soloists and chamber musicians, three principal players of major symphony orchestras joined together to form The Myriad Trio and embark on the beautiful instrumental combination that Debussy made famous with his Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp. Playing both traditional and contemporary works, Demarre McGill, Che-Yen Chen, and Julie Smith arrange and commission new works for this ensemble.

For their Fortas debut, they bring a program of works for flute, viola, and harp, including Bax's deeply lyrical and emotionally intense Elegiac Trio; David Bruce's The Eye of Night, which was commissioned for them and showcases each instrument and the virtuosity of each player; Jan Bach's intensely virtuosic Eisteddfod, which refers to a legendary Welsh contest in which the heroes fought against each other with games and musical instruments; and Debussy's magnificent Sonata. McGill and Smith are also joined by Metropolitan Opera Orchestra principal clarinetist (and brother to Demarre) Anthony McGill for Dvorák's Slavonic Dances for flute, clarinet, and harp, arranged by Michael Webster.
