1999-2000 Fortas Chamber Music Series

MIRO STRING QUARTET with Donald Weilerstein, viola

This young quartet, formed just four years ago at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, has already captured the attention of criticsù along with some of the top prizes in the chamber music world: First Prize in the 50th Annual Coleman Chamber Music Competition, First and Grand Prizes in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and First Prize at the 6th Banff International String Quartet Competition. With the highest endorsements of their presenters and fellow musiciansùincluding Isaac Stern, who has championed these young artists the Miro String Quartet is fast becoming one of the most sought-after ensembles in the field.
