About

National Symphony Orchestra Ensemble

Language: a collection of words spoken and written by people of one region. Music is often called "the universal language." Is musical language similar to spoken language? Are words like notes? What does a paragraph or a poem sound like? Using instruments of the modern orchestra, cellist Yvonne Caruthers and her NSO colleagues explore the language of music using what students already know about the languages they speak and write.
