presents
Guarneri String Quartet
Arnold Steinhardt, violinist
John Dalley, violinist
Michael Tree, violist
Peter Wiley, cellist
Perhaps the most celebrated ensemble of our time, the Guarneri String Quartet combines virtuoso techniques with the beauty and balance demanded of a world-class chamber group. Renowned for "playing with unabashed feeling and technical assurance" (The New York Times), the ensemble has recently welcomed Avery Fisher Career Grant-winning cellist Peter Wiley, a protTgT of the Quartet's original cellist David Soyer. The Guarneri is, quite simply, "as good as it gets" (The Miami Herald). Because the quartet performs exclusively in Washington on the Fortas Chamber Music Concert Series, the performance is sure to sell out early.
