About

No stage composer and lyricist matches the creativity and wit of Stephen Sondheim. From Sweeney Todd to Sunday in the Park with George and Assassins, his creations remain true to his own interests while tapping into America's fascination with the big questions of life as explored through art. Echoing the Kennedy Center's 2002 tribute to this master of music and lyrics, Marvin Hamlisch conducts the NSO Pops in Sondheim at 80, a concert of Sondheim's best-loved tunes in celebration of his 80th birthday, featuring performances by Liz Callaway, Michael Cerveris, Brian d'Arcy James, Maria Friedman, and Patricia Noonan. This is a little night music you don't want to miss!
