- Oct. 9 - 11, 2014
- Concert Hall
- 1-3/4 hours
- $10.00 - $85.00
Jauvon Gilliam, NSO principal timpani, on Also sprach Zarathustra:
"Also sprach Zarathustra starts off with bang, quite literally--me! Strauss takes inspiration from Nietzche's novel, which centers around creation and the meaning of life. Strauss ends the piece in two different keys, leaving the answers to these questions open to interpretation. Brilliant!"
Performance Timing: Part One - 50 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Part Two - 35 min.
NOTE: Following all three concerts, Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 9-11, Angela Hewitt will sign various CDs and materials in the Grand Foyer outside of the Concert Hall.
