Rhythms of the Americas

As a follow-up to their 2012 Americas Tour, the NSO presents a thrilling percussion-themed program that includes this season's NSO Hechinger Commission from American composer Andy Akiho--a world premiere work for steelpan and orchestra featuring steelpan master Liam Teague. Conducted by Manuel López-Gómez, the program will also include George Gershwin's Cuban Overture, Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas's Sensemaya, and more.
