Making her WNO debut, Washington audiences will have the chance to experience Ms. Gheorghiu's magnificent voice and dazzling stage presence in a program featuring the best of Mozart, Massenet, Puccini, and more.
At home on the great opera and recital stages of the world, Ms. Gheorghiu has been hailed as one of opera's greatest singing actresses. This is a rare opportunity to hear Ms. Gheorghiu perform selections from the operas that made her an international sensation, including Dvo?ák's famous "Song to the Moon" from Rusalka, and "Ebben? Ne andrò lontana" from Catalani's opera La Wally.
Ms. Gheorghiu will be accompanied by the WNO Orchestra under the baton of Eugene Kohn.
