Engage your mind and your palette with good wines and provocative insights into great music. In this three-part series of delightful talks in the Terrace Gallery, you'll explore the world of symphonic and chamber music while discovering wines from around the world.  Discussions led by musician and scholar Jessica Krash. Note: Must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

Session II: Dangerous Music, February 8, 2007:  
Music can go beyond expression to provide a critique of society and politics. This session focuses on music of the world that has been written as protest or struggle.  Learn how music has threatened the status quo through an exploration of selections from the classical repertoire, hip-hop, rock, and music from around the world.  Featuring wines of Germany.

National Symphony Orchestra: Leonard Slatkin, conductor/Leila Josefowicz, violin, performs Hindemith Leila Josefowicz performs Hindemith's Violin Concerto. Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony, Mahler's Adagio from Symphony No. 10, and J. Strauss Jr.'s Emperor Waltz are also on the program.
