About
Washington National Opera presents its first production of
Benjamin Britten's masterpiece Billy Budd. A trio of
leading American talents, Dwayne Croft, Samuel Ramey, and Bruce
Ford, star in a compelling setting of the Herman Melville story.
Staging the production that earned her England's prestigious
Olivier Award and France's Grand prix des critiques,
renowned director Francesca Zambello captains a gripping
depiction of the conflict between justice and duty on the
mutinous H.M.S. Indomitable. Renowned Britten specialist
Maestro Richard Hickox will conduct.
