About
A teenager takes a stand and changes the world. Inspired
by the events leading up to World War II, Sir Michael Tippett's
dramatic work of genius transcends time and place and speaks
with relevance to us today. Being performed all over the world in 2005 as part of the Tippett (1905-1998) centenary celebrations, this poignant statement of peace pays tribute
both to African-American spirituals and to the English choral
tradition.
ADDITIONAL FREE EVENT: Reflections on Tippett, a panel discussion, at 1:30 p.m., in the Atrium.
