About
NSO Music Director Leonard Slatkin takes to the podium for this Washington National Opera revival of Tosca, Puccini's supremely lyrical masterpiece, featuring a powerful and passion- nate score that includes Tosca's anguished "Vissi d'arte," and two of Italian opera's greatest tenor arias. Tosca, the diva who "lives for art," is swept up in an all-too-real game of political and sexual intrigue when the cunning Scarpia uses her own jealousy to trap her lover, Cavaradossi--with fatal consequences for all concerned.
Performed in Italian with English Supertitles.
NOTE: Supertitles not visible from Rear Orchestra.
