The most lovable of Italian comic operas, Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore, stars leading American tenor Paul Groves as Nemorino, a handsome but poor peasant willing to do anything--even take a love potion--to win the love of the feisty Adina, performed by the fabulous soprano Elizabeth Futral. Acclaimed French baritone Marc Barrard is the pompous Sergeant Belcore and Steven Condy is the quack Dr. Dulcamara. The production is conducted by exciting French maestro Emmanuel Villaume and staged by talented English director Stephen Lawless.
