About

SOPHIE'S CHOICE

The operatic happening of the season! WNO presents the U.S. premiere of Sophie's Choice by acclaimed composer Nicholas Maw. Based on the William Styron novel and film, this compelling opera is the story of Holocaust survivor Sophie Zawistowska, a woman haunted by a secret from her past. Acclaimed Austrian mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager stars, with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's newly appointed music director, Marin Alsop, conducting.

Performed in English and German with English supertitles.
NOTE:  Supertitles are not visible from Rear Orchestra seats.

There will be a question and answer discussion after the Matinee on Sunday, September 24.
