Dance Institute of Washington's Fabian Barnes and dancers from his Dance Institute of Washington present a "shake-the-rafters, rattle-the-floorboards, unabashedly uplifting" (The Washington Post) pageant of dance, poetry, and song in honor of the African American holiday, now in its 40th year. The seven principles of Kwanzaa come alive as never before with a lively lineup of special guest artists.

Dancers:  Washington Reflections Dance Company, DIW Senior Youth Repertory Ensemble,
DIW Junior Youth Repertory Ensemble, DIW Youth Repertory Ensemble Apprentices, and guest
artists Gerald T. Smith and Youth-N-Praise Gospel Choir, Gerald T. Smith, Director.
Sengalese Master Drummer: Medoune Yacine Gueye and Drummers; Guest Choreographer: Randee G. "Diamone" Gueye; Thembi Duncan, narrator; G. Alverez Reid, narrator.
