The S&R Foundation proudly presents the 2006 Washington Award Grand Prize Winner, Shunske Sato.
The Japanese violinist made his soloist debut with The Philadelphia Orchestra at age ten and has
appeared frequently with major orchestras across the globe.  He studied under Dorothy DeLay in
Juilliard's Pre-College Division, and under Jaime Laredo at the Curtis Institute.  His recording of
Edvard Grieg's complete violin sonatas won the 2007 Grand Prize of the Agency for Cultural Affairs
of Japan.
