The Taiwanese American Charity & Education Association is pleased to present three distinguished Taiwanese musicians in its 2010 annual concert. The program includes selections by Schumann, Bach, Schubert, Tosti, Brahms, Chausson, and more.
Violinist Keng-Yuen Tseng has won numerous top prizes at international competitions, including the Washington International String Competition. He has performed in recital and as soloist with orchestras throughout the U.S., Europe, South America, nad the Far East. He is currently on the faculty at the Peabody Conservatory of Music.
Peter Lee is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory and a doctoral candidate and teaching fellow at Shenandoah University. Equally skilled as a countertenor and tenor, he has performed a wide variety of oratorio and other roles in both ranges. In 2009 Mr. Lee was awarded first place in two categories of Taiwan's prestigious Golden Melody Award.
Pianist Sheng-Yuan Kuan has studied at Manhattan School of Music and Yale School of Music, and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Peabody Conservatory. She has won acclaim for her soloist and accompanist performances, and has participated in master classes conducted by several noted pianists including Susan Starr and Leon Fleisher.
Performance Timing: Part One - 45 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Part Two - 40 min.
