About

The Hispanic Heritage Awards were created in 1987 by President Ronald Reagan and the White House to commemorate the first celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic Heritage Foundation presents the 26th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards honoring the achievements of Latino leaders who have made a positive impact in America in various fields and served as role models--including cultural superstars, physicians, educators, public officials, community and business leaders, and even youth leaders. Members of Congress and celebrities will join together to present the awards during an entertaining stage production, which will be broadcast on television later in September.

This year's honorees are Eva Longoria, Community Service Award; Los Tigres del Norte, Legend Award; José Andrés, Design Award; Alberto Carvalho, Education Award; Maria Teresa Kumar, Leadership Award; Lucero, Vision Award; Diego Luna, Inspira Award; Juan Pablo Montoya, Sports Award; National Science and Math Initiative, STEM Award.
