The Choral Arts Society of Washington
Scott Tucker, conductor
Tango! Soul and Heart begins with two spiritual pieces. Ginastera's Lamentations of Jeremiah is a sacred a cappella motet by arguably the most important Argentine composer. The centerpiece of the concert is Misa Tango, a mass with Tango rhythms and the iconic sounds of the bandoneón, an accordion-style instrument. The second half of the program finds singers and dancers performing Tango in a celebration of dance and music. Experience the passion of the Tango--the soul and heart of Argentina!
Performance Timing: Part One - 45 min.; Intermission - 20 min.; Part Two - 40 min.
