About

Washington, D.C. Debut Recital
Cicely Parnas, cello
  --with Noreen Polera, piano

At the age of 19, cellist Cicely Parnas won First Prize in the 2012 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and made her Carnegie Hall debut in the Saint-Saëns Concerto with the New York String Orchestra under Jaime Laredo. Granddaughter of the illustrious cellist Leslie Parnas, she has also toured France as soloist with L'Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire. Ms. Parnas has frequently performed and recorded with her sister, violinist Madalyn Parnas, including music from Vivaldi to the 21st century.

The New York Times wrote of her Carnegie Hall debut, "Cicely Parnas, a fast-rising young cellist, was the impressive soloist in a rhapsodic performance."
