About

2010 International VSA Festival: Dynamo Day of Dance

NOTE: This event is NOT at the Kennedy Center.

Venue: The Smithsonian Institution's Discovery Theater, 1100 Jefferson Drive, SW
Date:   Friday, June 11, at 10:15 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.

Bringing together artists from Central America and right here in the Nation's capital, VSA Guatemala's Youth Dance Company and Maryland's Wild Zappers contrast the flash and spirit of traditional flamenco with the contemporary jazz/funk/hip hop of the United States. The Wild Zappers, an all-deaf male dance company, founded by Fred Beam, perform on the bill with the all-deaf female dance group from Central America, making this a one-of-a-kind event.
