Date:     Friday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m.

Award-winning tenor saxophonist and former VSA International Young Soloists Award recipient Quamon Fowler began listening to various types of music and duplicating what he heard by practicing relentlessly from the age of 12. Fowler released his first independent CD project in July 2000, Introducing Quamon Fowler. He holds a Masters Degree in Music Performance from Texas Tech University and in 2006 started his own nonprofit to help mentor young aspiring musicians. In 2008, Fowler received third place in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. Touring all over the world, the Texas native showcases his jazz quartet at the festival.
