Produced in association with Perishable Theatre Company and VSA Rhode Island, Amy Lynn Budd's The Thing That Ate My Brain…Almost receives its DC premiere.
The Thing That Ate My Brain…Almost, a "Neo-Burlesque Sci-Fi Extravaganza," is an autobiographical show that examines Ms. Budd's relationships with her largest brain tumor, her loved ones, and the world of medicine. She uses theater, burlesque dance, puppetry, digital media, and the genre of 1960s sci-fi movies to affirm that creativity and curiosity are the best medicine.
Amy Lynn Budd is a theater director, performer, and producer based in Providence, Rhode Island. She has directed plays for New Gate Theatre, Perishable Theatre, Brown University's MFA Playwriting Program, All Children's Theatre Ensemble, The Manton Avenue Project, Riverside Theatre in Iowa City, Iowa, and Indiana State University.
