About
A collaboration between The Builders Association and motiroti
Directed by Marianne Weems
An exhilarating collaboration between two of today’s leading-edge theater companies, Alladeen is a magic carpet ride that whisks you from the U.S. to the U.K. to international call centers in India, where operators in Bangalore are trained to “pass” as Americans. Echoing the tale of Aladdin, the production uses enthralling multimedia to examine how our identities get distorted through the circuits of technology. The Wall Street Journal calls Alladeen “a poetic extravaganza that effortlessly blends words, music, film, video art, and vivid performances. You should go out of your way to see it.”
