About

The 1940s was the decade in which Hollywood became the center of world entertainment, and the art of film was pushed to new limits. From technicolor musicals and wartime dramas to women’s pictures and film noir, the decade’s hope and anxiety was reflected in celluloid. The Kennedy Center and the American Film Institute are screening nine beloved classics in the Terrace Theater on three consecutive Sundays.
