About
Mexico City's innovative contemporary circus combines street theater with traditional circus arts, including balancing acts on tightropes or Chinese poles, trapeze, clowning, and juggling. The company performs their multimedia spectacle …Come Back to My Feet, inspired by Paul Auster's novel In the Country of Last Things. Auster's work is set in an American city in the near future, populated by street dwellers, scavengers, and squatters in ruined buildings. The protagonist, Anna Blume, has come to the city to hunt for her missing brother in an alley in an unnamed city. The scenery and dialogue is inspired by Auster's book, as well as by the music of René Aubry and urban sonorous atmospheres.
Major support for Celebrate Mexico 2010 is provided by The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation and CEMEX.
