About

This distinctive a cappella group from Northern China's Inner Mongolian autonomous region performs a program entitled White Clouds Drifting Home showcasing traditional works that preserve its rich musical heritage.  The concert will also include Without Words by the New York–based award-winning composer Huang Ruo.
 
The company, which made its U.S. debut on the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage during the 2005 Festival of China, has performed in concerts and competitions around the globe, winning three gold medals in the 2000 Olympic Choral Contest in Austria. Consisting of some forty singers, their unique blend of Western choral techniques and Mongolian traditional songs has enchanted audiences all over the globe.
 
CHINA: The Art of a Nation, a series on the arts and culture of China inspired by the Center's acclaimed Festival of China in 2005, revisits the flourishing arts of one of the 21st century's world powers with nearly 300 artists spanning all genres of the performing arts.
