About

London-born musician, DJ, curator, producer, and activist DJ Rekha has been paving the way for bhangra music in North America through her monthly Basement Bhangra event, running in New York for more than a decade. Regarded as a pioneer in the South Asian music community, Rekha is also an adjunct faculty member at New York University, where she has taught courses in South Asian pop culture. DJ Rekha will also lead a free bhangra class on March 13.
