About
Nora comes home with a gift--a dollhouse so large that the children can play inside. Then enter the men, her husband Torvald, Dr. Rank, and Krogstad, no taller than the children but boasting oversized egos. Mabou Mines, a New York–based experimental theater company that has been celebrated for bringing new vision to well-known texts, takes the underlying truth of Ibsen's story--that women sometimes make themselves small so that men can feel big--and makes it literal. "Do not miss…Mabou Mines DollHouse. It is one of those moments for which one searches, night after night, and which one will not forget for a long time" (Le Monde, Paris).
Performance Timing: Act I - 85 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Act II - 55 min.
Program Note: This performance contains mature content and nudity.
